What is an herbal "tincture"?

A tincture is a concentrated plant extract used as an herbal supplement. The solvent used is grain alcohol, which breaks down the plant cell wall to extract medicinal compounds. Using alcohol as a solvent also allows for a very long shelf life.

Tinctures can be used to support a wide range of wellness goals.

Where do the herbs come from?

All plant materials used in the workshop are wild-harvested by Elyse on private land (away from fields, pesticides & roadways), or purchased from quality, reputable herb wholesalers.

I have a medical condition or allergy, should I attend?

Always consult a medical professional before beginning an herbal supplement routine.

Please reach out to Elyse prior to booking if you have general questions or concerns.

Is herbalism hard to learn?

It doesn't need to be hard! In fact, Elyse is a self proclaimed "backyard, self-taught herbalist" who has learned from amazing professionals over the years, but focuses on the herbs in close proximity to her. She lives on 7 acres, surrounded by woods and two beautiful creeks, and loves to teach others how to forage and use the herbs God provided us for medicinal purposes. She believes simplicity & quality can go hand in hand, and tells everyone "If I can learn this as a busy mom of 3 boys, you can too!"
